POGO FILMS UP AND RUNNING IN 3D
Pogo Films buys 3D post equipment and delivers results for clients.
After a very positive response from it's exhibition at the BVE 2010 expo, Pogo Films have taken delivery of the Monitoring equipment and licensing to post stereoscopic 3D. This includes the JVC 3D Display, Inition's invaluable StereoBrain and the licensing from Quantel to run Pogo's Pablo iQ 3D tool-set.
BVE 2010 expo produced several new clients for Pogo Films, each with different and challenging Stereoscopic 3D projects. A big-brand commercial has already been delivered; The Grade and Stereo-check performed on the real-time Quantel Pablo iQ. Also, an effect heavy promo is being offlined and prepped for delivery, offlining in Final Cut Pro and After Effects, before grade and delivery by iQ. One project photographed on HD-CAM and another on SI-2K cameras; each providing new challenges and workflows to be established, each challenge met.
More than just posting of s3D content, Pogo Films is now developing three stereoscopic projects: The first is a children's story-telling series, based on stereoscopic stills; The second, a multipart, London based horror drama and lastly; a documentary on local British surfboard shaping.
"BVE 2010 really worked well for us. We got to show our workflow with Red and stereoscopic 3D and this clearly influenced potential clients. Before we packed up on the Thursday, we had two bookings!" said Olivier Lauchenauer, Managing Director, Pogo Films.
"Our s3D production activities can only benefit our clients as we explore and develop streamlined workflows with different rigs, cameras and manage the transition through to post. That transition point is where all the skeletons lurk at the moment - We want to shine our light into that closet!" says Philip Richardson, Managing Director, Pogo Films.
"Stereoscopic 3D will provide a great opportunity for forward-looking post houses such as Pogo Films to develop their operations into an exciting and profitable new area of business..." said Quantel Director of Sales, Richard Craig-McFeely. "We are delighted to be supporting Pogo in this venture and look forward to helping them make the maximum impact with this eye-catching initiative."
