RUSHES COMPLETED VFX ON 'THE SCOUTING BOOK FOR BOYS'

Rushes Film and TV have completed 30 'invisible' VFX shots on the award winning feature 'The Scouting Book for Boys' being released in cinemas 19th March 2010.

VFX supervisor, Jonathan Privett comments "It was a real pleasure to work closely with director, Tom Harper, helping to visually reinforce several key moments in the film. Rushes work involved crowd replications, set extensions, game graphics, green screens and wound enhancement. We have become real experts at making this kind of VFX work for independent British films and are very excited about our involvement with yet another great project."

Tom Harper continues "VFX have advanced so considerably over the last few years and have reached a price level where they are a useful and important tool in a director's toolbox, even on a low budget film.  Not only can they be used to create the fantastical and impossible, but also, as was the case in The Scouting Book For Boys, in a subtle way to enhance the mood or atmosphere of a shot or scene.  Rushes were fantastic at seamlessly integrating the effects into the film."

Written by Jack Thorne (Skins, Shameless) and produced by Christian Colson and Ivana MacKinnon of Cloud Eight Films (Slumdog Millionaire), THE SCOUTING BOOK FOR BOYS is the directorial debut feature from Tom Harper (BIFA Award winning, Rushes Soho Shorts Award winning and BAFTA nominated short film Cubs, 2006 and Rushes Soho Shorts/ BIFA nominated short film, Cherries, 2007.)
