MUNKY'S DOPPELGANGER

Munky's start to 2010 has been a busy and exciting one in which we have completed post production on music videos for Cheryl Cole and JLS, a commercial for Coca Cola's Powerade featuring Wayne Rooney and all visual effects for E4?s 'Skins', Series4.

The Powerade spot 'Skins vs Shirts', directed by Rattling Stick's Steve Cope for ad agency Mother, in which Rooney plays against his doppelganger, posed several complex problems. Owing to injury in a Manchester Derby match the night before the shoot, Rooney was limited to two and a half hours on set. The repercussions of this meant that in addition to the considerable amount of environment work required to extend the football pitch and layer up mist and fog, we still only had 2 weeks to accomplish a fair bit of head replacement onto body doubles. Using both live action of Rooney and a 3D digital head scan obtained on set, we had a team of six Flame ops and 5 roto artists working 24/7 to get the 30 second spot on air for the Manchester United v AC Milan Champions League cup tie.

Having worked on a handful of shots for the previous series of E4's teen drama 'Skins', exec-producer and writer Bryan Elsley commissioned Munky to look after all the VFX for the seasons Series 4. Episode One, attracted 1.1 million viewers across E4 and E4+1, the highest rated episode since Series 1 in 2007.

Simultaneously, Munky had been asked to undertake post for British boy band sensation JLS on their new single 'One Shot'. Predominantly created using After Effects, it took four weeks of hard work to finish the VFX required for the third single from the bands debut self titled album.  The band has recently gone on to win two awards at the Brits for British Breakthrough Act and British Single.

Most recently though, Munky supervised and created VFX for Cheryl Cole's stylish new music video 'Parachute' directed by AlexandLiane from Factory Films.
