THE HOSPITAL CLUB HOSTS LONDON LEG OF 'HOPE FOR HAITI'

Global superstars from the worlds of music and film will unite this Friday 22nd January at The Hospital Club's TV Studios in Covent Garden to take part in a worldwide telethon raising funds and awareness following last week's devastating Haitian earthquake.

Earlier this week Hollywood legend George Clooney announced that stars including Bono, Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys will all perform in a global event, entitled 'Hope for Haiti'.   Clooney will anchor from Los Angeles while Haitian born rapper Wyclef Jean will helm the show from New York with CNN's Anderson Cooper reporting live from Haiti.

Twilight actor Robert Pattinson has been confirmed as the London host and will be fronting the televised coverage from The Hospital Club which will include performances from Coldplay, Beyonce, Bono, The Edge, Jay Z and Rhianna.

The event will also feature an exclusive performance of a new song (title not available) written by Bono and Jay Z to benefit the victims of the Haitian earthquake.

George Clooney comments: "The aim of the telethon is to show the people of Haiti that the whole world is paying attention"

Will Turner, CEO of The Hospital Club, Covent Garden adds: "Over the last 11 days the news reports and images from Haiti have been truly heart wrenching.  'Hope for Haiti' will focus the eyes of the world on the humanitarian effort that is required to assist those so in need.  We at The Hospital Club will be donating our venue, particularly the TV studios and staff resources for free to aid in this goal."

The 'Hope for Haiti' event will benefit the Red Cross, Unicef, Oxfam America, Partners in Health and Jean's Yele Haiti Foundation. Songs from participating artists will also be made available on iTunes, with proceeds going straight to the relief effort.
